It’s dangerous work, if you can get it And you can get it faster than the shake of an eye. When nothing but trouble remains There is very little to keep you seriously out of harm’s way… It’s dangerous work if you can get it And you can get it faster than the shake of an eye. Call me emotional Call me crazy The perils exactly entailed won’t fail not to fail to amaze me The heart swells to twice its size To disbelieving eyes Belonging to level headed heavy heady aches You’re asking for twice the moon, that could ever belong to you Or any of other fools who foolishly fail to reach It’s dangerous work, if you can get it And you can get it faster than the shake of an eye. When nothing but trouble remains There is very little to keep you seriously out of harm’s way… It’s dangerous work if you can get it And you can get it faster than the shake of a… Shake of an eye.

Serious I say, believe it or not I won’t become the bird who caught The avian flu one winter day And choked on the ice in the icy air MY CUP OF WATER OVERFLOWS BUT I KEEP DRINKING!!! It’s a long time before you come To glowing bits of knowing You’re tired in face by then you have spent Any last hope of ditching cares MY CUP OF WATER OVERFLOWS BUT I KEEP DRINKING!!! I’m fool’s fool in a hundreds ways I specialize in dealing Not dealing so much as seeking the touch of Someone I could be believing… MY CUP OF WATER OVERFLOWS BUT I KEEP DRINKING!!!

SEE YOURSELF 02:45

When it comes apart, you know it gets too serious. Only broken minds get twisted up like animated vine. Slowly is the going through the world with no one. I said when are you coming home and you said when you turn to salt. Tie me up by my hands, point me off in direction. And I cried, so loud so that the neighbors would come home to hold me steady. You would think the world was on fire it was so damn hot. Tie me up by my hands, point me off in direction. There's no other way to being low. Ways got wild and I was so cold and immoral on the train and all around. And when you called, it was a sweet woman's call on the phone. What ever happened to the things I used to do that made you mine? Tie me up by my hands, point me off in direction.

Listen, it’s just what we got. I knew it fought and wore you out. Try salvation in defeating odds I wish at least you’d roll… Clear way inside disturbing night You will descend in night I hope my offer is in time to serve you right True time unfolds They come to climb the field They’re halfway gone Never to remind of fear, forever. Chewing this sense of being home in time Waxin’ we should be gone far out and passing the all consuming time. How could we slip to way too gone? We’ll find other ways to keep this world from coming between us. They come to climb the field They’re halfway gone Never to remind of fear, forever. To the soul who’s tired, I know you Way too far out. Way too far gone and out, they come to climb the field… They come to climb the field They’re halfway gone Never to remind of fear, forever.

GOOD AS LIFE 03:07
He was entirely innocent, this obedient skull He went and looked for girls to see and make it merrier Seemed fine and hopeful but also wary Delighted in his head housed spirits, loved a leafy Fall Deep in a state, he got under the weight of it all When he see’d the ocean, Deep fear of sinking sank the fun he thought it off, Oh one of these days, I’ll live without hesitation Because there’s nothing as good as life And all the while his mind was deeply magic He riddled on and on deep confusing ways In that state, turned around by the weight of it all His shape and size were truly esoteric His alien life was fragile like and egg But he kept saying aloud like a kook: There’s nothing as good as life True that and knowing should relieve the pressure I’d do anything to create.

If you have doubts, I understand that If you tease my name, I’ll be glad If you praise the same sun I do If you love in many ways that I do If you rot in time, I’ll rot If you change in mind, I’ll change

A CUP OF TEA 02:22
A Cup of tea for me baby, a cup of tea for me I am sincerely losing the scent here… A Cup of tea for me baby, a cup of tea for me Why is the neariest sun so much eerier? While my nose is nearing the ice polar scent, I’m on a roll… I……..am sitting on a wall, that overlooks the city And all the winding roads that lead away I am in the cobble world and try to breathe a rare air Into a crystal lung I am in the cobble world, the marvel of the nation Tall bucket colored air I’d be so thankful if you’d bring here… A Cup of tea for me baby, a cup of tea for me I’m on the verge of a negative impression A d-d-dance in the borough, another chance in the borough I’ll admonish me to keep growing light here A cup of tea for me baby, a cup of tea for me… I’m sitting in the shape, I’ll take the oath of the way of Euphoria Road I……..am sitting on a wall, that overlooks the city And all the winding roads that lead away I am in the cobble world and try to breathe a rare air Into a crystal lung I am in the cobble world, the marvel of the nation Could never leave me cold I’d be so thankful if you’d bring here… A cup of tea for me baby, a cup of tea for you and me Is so much better than just being here with no one.

ESS JAM 04:05
Street walking with the longing gay eyes It’s too hard to get somewhere without the motivation Em-pathy-thetic theories come and they go But if there’s sun in the sky then I can deal with the snow Control the dark side Waking up in sweat in the middle of the night I used to didn’t have an odor, was in perfect health But I started smelling sour after years without wealth If you’re able to put food on your table. I spent the whole night talking With a lovely woman who was kind to me And in my age and my body that I drag along I mean to bless her with this segment of this lonely song Control the dark side B, my true assurance: it will be alright! I have no proof and cannot read to try and save my life But it beats sudden death obsessive dark preoccupation! I have demands to be met and ideals to hold I have a future from a factory inspected mold I’m getting stronger and more dangerous as I get old.. Then why this back and forth accordianic contemplation??? Street walking with the longing gay eyes It’s unbearable to soldier on with nothing to hide I’ll prattle on and on until there’s nothing left inside But if you call me to get dinner I will be there in a minute. If you’re able to put food on the table, You’re over the mountain. I am the one who cares that you’re talkin. Keep cool mind when creeps come knocking. XO

I, in absolute trouble, Built a house in here on wide wheels So that I can roll, I can roll from town to town Fate still undecided But forcing my hand now Forcing my figure to develop Some kind of shaking Your dollar general store Personality is one I love It is child-like, Making minimum wage Oh those overkilled cities Oh what dreams, what dreams could possibly come? I got leisure I can go walking Why even doubt? Who can change completely inside out? It’s not science, it’s not even math! Fate, still undecided Wobbly on the wheels I want to roll I’m my own dog My best friend

ATWATER 929 03:08
Atwater 929, before you died I knew you were a solitary soul Atwater 929, the is soothing of my feelings for you, all my feelings No hesitation, I speak truly with my heart like woman, my mind like man Atwater 929, wherever you are, I hope you see the things that I do fine, not the trash Atwater 929, I’m not too proud to listen if you find the time tonight No hesitation, I speak truly with my heart like woman, my mind like man So I rock, yeah yeah yeah, believing is tough but it’s been a pretty good day!

Give me all your ducks and dollars Give me all your ducks and dollars Lie to me completely See if I give hoot or holler That’s a good guarantee! Talk to me, t t t t t t t t aaallk Make your mind talk nice and breathy Let’s get hot and heavy Give me all your ducks and dollars Find the real solution An everlasting patch upon The whole of heart’s pollution Talk to me, t t t t t t t taaaalllk I wouldn’t have it any other way My busted body is A-O-K! Give me all your ducks and dollars Every passing moment Every wish upon a star and every chocolate donut Idly by while war is raging deep atop a mountain I’ll be standing in Loose Park throwing pennies in the fountain, getting so much out of luck...

about

Two men and a lady present: Loose Park's "MONSTROUS: A Recorded Album of Sacred Music." We had initially thought we'd record this on our own at home, but fate led elsewhere and basic tracking occurred January 9th 2014 at Element Studios with the generous Joel Nanos in Kansas City, Missouri, the day after our first show. The album was then mixed by me, Matthew Dunehoo, alone at home using a seven-and-a-half-gallon stainless steel brew kettle and a my first Sony thinking-compewtur, between January and May, 2014. But seriously, the album had to take this long as it's still coming together this very night and I have so much appreciated my first chance to produce the imperfect album now in your ears, thank you Beckie and Mike. Finally mastered mercifully (tomorrow) by Jason Carter at Atomic Disc, Salem, OR. Loose Park began when I moved home in a fog from NYC in June 2013 and began writing music upon landing with my longtime friend and drummer Mike Myers. We invited new longtime friend Beckie Trost into the fold to bass it up and never looked back. Loose Park, the park, has always been a sanctuary of magical possibility for me over the years. I remember one summer in particular when I was often in odd spots of heart I'd head there regularly to listen to the Cocteau Twins and walk around and try to come back to Earth a bit more pleasantly than how I'd left it. Loose Park the band has been a sort of sanctuary for me as well and possibly I think for Beckie and Mike, though you'd have to ask them to be sure. Mike's basement is filled with friendly spiders and candles and gummy bears and guitarin' good times, exactly the way a midwest basement should be. Mike said early on that he thought the songs in this set of 12 were "manic." So here you are, 12 manic spazzings from Loose Park, the modern day indie def leppard. Thanks for listening to this album and for being a part of it with us. Special thanks to Alissa Myers for being so patiently accommodating, to Robert Rodriguez for the beautiful artwork and everyone who supports what we and all the artists in KC and everywhere else do to try and approach the weirdness with Love. Sincerely, Matthew, May 27 2014 (May 28 with this last revision...)
